GRIEF Counselling

Nothing hurts more than the loss of someone we love. Nothing can prepare you for the painful journey that grieving takes us on. Words can't begin to capture what's going on inside. Grieving takes us all over the map and we can feel like this cruel journey has no end. We fear that this is our new normal and we will never feel different or better or like ourselves ever again. It just hurts.

If you are grieving, you mostly want to be alone, and be left alone. You don't want to talk about it. It's too painful. But you also know that you need to sort out some feelings. Sometimes, just being somewhere safe with someone who knows how to listen and care can be helpful.

I'm here. I don't want to fix you, or help you learn to forget, or get over it, or move on. I just want to walk with you on this stretch of the journey with you. One day at a time. Let's see where it leads.

The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing... not healing, not curing... that is a friend who cares.
— Henri Nouwen
Colin’s grief counselling was the voice, hands and feet of Jesus during our tragic family loss involving a multi-year battle with illness. His kind wisdom constantly assured me that Jesus knew about our situation, that Jesus cared about me and my family and was right there in the midst of it with us and that Jesus loves my family with an everlasting love. If you are in the storm I would allow Colin to bring the light of Christ.
