Nothing hurts more than the loss of someone we love. Nothing can prepare you for the painful journey that grieving takes us on. Words can't begin to capture what's going on inside. Grieving takes us all over the map and we can feel like this cruel journey has no end. We fear that this is our new normal and we will never feel different or better or like ourselves ever again. It just hurts.
If you are grieving, you mostly want to be alone, and be left alone. You don't want to talk about it. It's too painful. But you also know that you need to sort out some feelings. Sometimes, just being somewhere safe with someone who knows how to listen and care can be helpful.
I'm here. I don't want to fix you, or help you learn to forget, or get over it, or move on. I just want to walk with you on this stretch of the journey with you. One day at a time. Let's see where it leads.
